After taking a year off to spend more time with my family, I am thrilled to be back with the Inland Family Dentistry team. I am Dr. Samantha Kofler, a graduate of Whitman College, and I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, graduating with honors. During my time in dental school, I conducted research on genotyping for cleft lip and palate.

Following dental school, I pursued a general practice residency program at the University of California San Francisco, specializing in Hospital Dentistry. This program focused on providing comprehensive care for patients with complex needs in various settings, including the dental clinic, in-patient, and at-home care. My training also involved studying advanced techniques for dental and maxillofacial trauma, as well as dental implants.

After completing my residency, I took on the role of assistant clinical professor at the University of California San Francisco, where I provided advanced training for dental school graduates. I was actively involved in Project Homeless Connect, a program that offers essential resources, including dentistry, to vulnerable individuals in San Francisco. Additionally, I taught pre-doctoral dental students during their Hospital Dentistry rotations.

My commitment to community service extends to Walla Walla, where I continue to volunteer on the Walla Walla YMCA board. I also serve as a Washington Dental Commissioner and am a proud member of the local Walla Walla dental society.

Outside of my professional life, my husband Erik is a physician at Providence St. Mary in Walla Walla. We are a family of four with two wonderful children. Our daughter is passionate about gymnastics and recently achieved her back handspring, while our son is obsessed with basketball. When we’re not busy keeping up with our children or giving back to the community, the Kofler family enjoys hiking, traveling, attending sporting events, and exploring local restaurants.
